After actually thinking about it more I would like to revise that to:

^ I should have just stuck with my initial instincts tbh. Falco has been cool af on the jury while Yoshi's performance in the finals has left a lot to be desired.

My final vote was unlikely to ever deviate given the configuration of the final three but Captain Falcon did solidify it with his answer to my question. I particularly liked how he referred to being intentionally ambiguous about his challenge skills, and therefore never faced repercussion for being seen as weak or too strong. Ultimately I lost the game because I chose to face Squirtle in the ring, assuming him to be an easier opponent, based on literally nothing except for the way that Captain Falcon held himself. Playing this format with a weakness in the duels is very difficult and something I have never been able to succeed at, especially given the other aspects of my playstyle which draw so much attention onto myself. Captain Falcon managed to do something I doubt I ever could by maintaining a significant presence throughout the entire game while only having to face the ring once. His approach may have been a bit safe and boring for my liking but it worked to his advantage and I have to commend him for that.
