So I was put into the Ring again, not entirely surprised as I was the newbie but still pretty annoying especially since I was asleep while all the discussion was happening. Playing on a different timezone is pretty challenging. I'm able to be online a bit more when I'm working from home, but I went to the office today so was offline from 8am to 9pm.
Green seem to be quite tight with the appearance of Green strong. Dark Pit tells me that Wario isn't the only one trying to pull crazy shit so there must be some other players trying to gain control. At this point, I'm happy to just go with the flow. If they think I'm a valuable number for them, it keeps me insulated especially now that we are going into a swap. I've still got my Blue connections too so that could serve me well. It's just Red that I barely know people but this round, if I win the duel I'll go there. Don't think there's too much time to build connections, but could knock out one of the ones I just don't have a connection with. Being on Red also means with the chaining for the new teams means I'll get reunited with Green (and some Blue) players.
At this point in the game, I'm feeling pretty chill. Getting put into the Ring actually is kinda fun in a way since you get do challenges and your survival rests squarely on your own shoulders. It's just annoying having all the PMs come your way. If someone can design a game which is just challenges and no PMs, please invite me.
I wonder if I can make it to the merge/jury given my schedule. I have to go into the office a lot more now so not sure I can be as present with PMing. If jury is at 11, I still need to survive quite a few more votes but if I can back my challenge performance then there's hope. I'm surprised I managed to bring it back from the edge after being absent for the beginning of the game but the Arena format has been amazing.

So I've now survived two duels, the second one just barely. Didn't get my top choice of going to Red which might have helped the situation with the chaining for the new teams but this current scenario isn't too bad. I've got Wario and Kaz from Green and Cap and Squirtle from Blue. I can work with all of them, and the tentative plan is for the five of us to form a majority to take out Donkey Kong. Not sure what to make of the egg stuff with Yoshi, seems I need to work with Wario on that. Plant is giving me nothing.
Dedede, Dark Pit and Krool seem to be in a tight three, and they're all on the other side - that's dangerous. They all got swapped together which could be interesting long term. Will they turn out like Kwitrio or will they turn out like the Butts? Would have liked Falco over here but I think he decided to go over there to build more connections with players.
I am quietly confident in my chances of surviving the second week but you can never be too sure. Wario wants to knock out DK this round, and then make Plant immune for the next so that we take out Cap or Squirtle. Will I let that happen - not sure at the moment. I would want to keep my Blue and Green options around as much possible. At this point, I'm all about going with the flow. I just need to be seen as a reliable ally who will vote as told since there's no way I can be around while they're all strategising during my sleep hours.

Almost every player on this tribe is from a team that has previously voted you out, does that make you feel less safe for future votes, or do you feel more safe being surrounded by players you've had the chance to interact with before?
Where does DK fall on your radar, considering the above?

You can never feel too safe here, but for the moment, I think I'm in a good spot. Having been on both Green and Blue, I've set myself up well in terms of connections. Thank fuck I decided to not go to Red to chill when I won my first duel. As much as all the PMing with Green (and Blue while in the Ring) gets very tedious, it's paid off for this next stage. Early plans is that we have old Green and old Blue combining forces with Yoshi also on the side. Kaz is wary of Cap hence the need to bring in Yoshi, but I trust Cap more than I trust Squirtle so I'll be keeping him close.
Yoshi is cobbling together a majority (apparently) of players who just want to survive this next vote and asked if I was in. Obviously I'm in. He even said he was willing to volunteer to go into the Ring. Re the egg strategy, I have an egg but I just can't be bothered playing into that. Wario is the only one who has revealed he has an egg, and I'm deciding whether to reveal I have one or not. Yoshi hinted very strongly to me to talk to Wario, so if he's done the same thing to Wario, then Wario will know I've lied to him about not having an egg.
DK doesn't really fall into my plans. From all accounts, it could be him going into the Ring, but there's still another day before the vote. To be fair, I don't really have plans other than to let Big Boy Wario make the decisions and go along for the ride. Marthy is the dependable happy-go-lucky player who will do as told. For now. My goal is to just stay under the radar and slide on through to the next week.
