However, to help get you get started, feel free to share your thoughts on the following questions: 1. What do you make of the Arena format and how will it impact on the way you choose to play? 2. What considerations came into play when you selected the Red Team? 3. Which fellow players did you find yourself drawn to in the first day? 4. Conversely, have you already made any enemies? Is there anyone on your Team that you aren't happy to see there? 5. Finally, do you have any thoughts on the Sandbags and how will they affect your approach to the game? Otherwise, we hope you have fun in this tournament and best of luck with being crowned Smash Arena: Ultimate Champion! Righto, CH. I will answer these questions. 1. It's no secret that I'm one of the worst challenge competitors in all of ORG's so the Arena format is the hardest of all formats for me to overcome since there's an attitude of "they haven't been in yet, let's throw them in" that doesn't really exist in other formats. Once I'm in the arena, I'm at long odds to come out of it unscathed, unless it's Na's Mario ORG where everyone kept fucking up against me. 2. WFT and I discussed briefly about going to Green team but as soon as the time flicked over to pick teams, a flood of people picked Green, a few picked blue and I think only Robin had picked red. So WFT and I decided on Red. 3. WFT was cool as mentioned earlier, I love how up front she is. I played up that Dog loved Squirtle to Squirtle which would have been a cute pairing, but nobody else really. A lot of people are super in character. For guys like Mario or Donkey Kong that I know a lot about, this would be awesome, except they aren't really playing the shtick up. It's mainly these other characters that go on about subjects I have no idea about. Someone send me a Switch so I can study.  4. No enemies so far. Lots of banter with Dog insulting people which is fun. 5. The sandbags thing is something that's a bit cool. In one of JL's games there was a card system where the highest cards placed won you immunity and I just spent all my highest cards first. Win immunity and have enough time to get myself sorted. Also try to show that I'm not a threat at the end game and people might want to keep me around. I don't know how solid that strategy is, but I'll go with it. Other things to mention, It seems a four person alliance is brewing of myself, WFT, Robin and Samus. It seems that WFT is super proactive in getting shit like this sorted. I'm happy to roll with it. I enjoy the banter of Samus and Robin as well. Mario is looking likely to be thrown into the arena. I'm trying to make sure Yoshi joins us. We have a few expendable players, so we can bring Yoshi over and show that the grass is er, redder on our side. Robin shared with me all the clues about the super ball thing. I figured out the background bit but apparently it's the odd one out. I have no idea what any of it means besides like the Sonic logo, Street fighter, Donkey Kong, Mario related stuff. Flick, please help me. |

Thanks for your thoughts Duck Hunt! As a fellow challenge sucker I feel your pain! There are a large variety of challenges though, any pick your fancy?
It seems that you've played your two highest cards to secure immunity. Is that your strategy just for this round or will you try to win immunity for every round onwards?

I didn't see any Italian football quiz, so no sorry.
I want to try to just get rid of my cards. I can't think of a solid strategy for them and I'd hate to get voted out down the track because people think I have too many cards or something, so why not use them now, get rid of them, gain immunities and stop others from getting it. It's likely not the best strategy but it is a strategy haha.
So the core four is hanging tough, I'm homies with Robin, Samus and WFT. I feel like someone has a chance to overtake my spot in the alliance if I relax a bit, but for now, I feel part of it.
I had a big weekend, football related shit all over the place and the superbowl today. If I can just make it to Thursday, I'm going to have a serious amount of time on my hands and will be good to really get stuck into this. Sorry that I haven't got much else, besides Isabelle being the likely vote tonight.

Hey gang. Apologies for all the inactivity. I was actually going to go into hospital yesterday for this medical study and in the lead up to it, I had to get MRI's eye tests, covid tests, etc. But now that's all done. I was okay with the LA Rams winning the SB. First year in ages a team I hated wasn't in the game so I had a nice relaxing time just watching.
Where were we. Okay so Mario has been voted in a bunch of times but seems to have really picked up their activity. They also seem to be pretty damn good at challenges. One to watch for sure. WFT missed two straight votes so she floated the idea of us voting her out because it would look a bit sus on us if we didn't. I still really didn't want to vote for her, but I did. Now she's out, with the smash ball in tow.
I think my alliance with Robin and Samus really helped me out. Robin did say that DK was coming after me for being a bit quiet. So I think I really caught a lucky break, not only with my alliance but also being in a tribe with other inactive players.
The tribe swap went pretty well. I'm with both of my alliance members. I also really like the three greens that came over. All seem to have decent banter. I've considered flipping and just start fresh with all of this new time on my hands, I could potentially make it work. However, I most likely will stick with who I know for now and see if we can pick up any side deals. See what happens.
With it being four-four, I need to work on my relationship with Mario. We obviously are on thin ice with him having voted him in a bunch. But then again, he kept coming back to us and then he was spared the last two votes. Could be wishful thinking trying to salvage something, but I'm gonna try. I created a group chat with the four reds basically saying sorry for the inactivity, making Mario feel like more of a decision maker in the reds and me being the one asking for help. Hopefully it works. I'm not great with subtlety, but I have to try. Also gotta work on Falco. Not sure if the chemistry is there with him, but just gotta throw shit out there, I suppose.
Years ago my housemate told me this joke about a duck walking into a bar and asking a bar man if he had any corn. I thought it was a stupid, yet super funny joke. The joke was eventually turned into a song with a lot of views on YouTube:
But anyway, I just thought I'd incorporate that into my Duck shtick for the hell of it. See people's reactions to constantly being asked for corn. I know Dog is the idiot and Duck is the straight guy but something else to do, I suppose.

Robin hasn't messaged me back but messaged the former red group chat with some generic shit. Samus hasn't messaged me in days. I really get along well with Falco but especially with Pyra and Mythra. I have no idea why, maybe it's the same shtick thing, but I feel like I can work with them. Someone that listens to me maybe. I messaged Mario telling him everything, why he was voted, why he's in danger in the future. If it's going to be me that's voted, it's time to blow shit up. Time to start fresh with new allies. Sorry this is short, I'll do a better one when I get home from football later  |
