Thank you for being part of Super Smash Arena: Ultimate! This is your confessional area, a private space that is yours to do what you like with. We've even disabled the post counter, so nobody will see how much or how little you confess. You can use your confessional to do any or all of the following:
- Explain your strategies
- Talk about your experiences
- Ask the hosts questions
- Store information and resources
plus anything else you can think of. Just bear in mind that whatever you say will be visible to all once the game ends. To help you along, the hosts will pop in from time to time to ask questions. Great to have you with us in this epic tournament! As our dear creator Masahiro said, feel free to use this space however you wish. However, to help get you get started, feel free to share your thoughts on the following questions:
1. What do you make of the Arena format and how will it impact on the way you choose to play?
2. What considerations came into play when you selected the Green Team?
3. Which fellow players did you find yourself drawn to in the first day?
4. Conversely, have you already made any enemies? Is there anyone on your Team that you aren't happy to see there?
5. Finally, do you have any thoughts on the Sandbags and how will they affect your approach to the game?

1. Might take me a few days to get my head around the in's & out's, never played Arena format. I'm shit at challenges hence need to avoid. 2. Had 2 schools of thought: - Join a team with players I've already been messaging so I don't have to start from scratch.
- Join a team with a few in-actives so I'm not on the bottom.
End result I'm probably on the bottom with the plant trying to stay alive. 3. King Debebe would be my fav, Link I clicked with. Kazuya is obviously talented. In reality I'll be no one's number 1 (been caught up in real life stuff the last 36 hours). I've never owned a nintendo hence I'm finding it hard to message and be in character/talk about Donkey Kong Land. 4. No enemies, but I'll be on the bottom, my best play is to try and get the vote on the plant if it only posts gifs. Or go hard for the shield. 5. I don't totally understand the training and cards thing just yet, but I'll pick it up on the fly. The Teams don't challenge each other so what's the point of being on a strong team? Isn't it better to be on a weak team hence less likely to be voted out? Am I correct that we are the only full team? Correct! We're the strongest team! Green will win! |

There's a group chat of King Debebe, Yakuza, Wartio and myself, seems promising.
Dropping the schtick to try and build better connections. Could work, or backfire. Schtick is hard work requiring decent research which slows down my messaging frequency and ability to connect. I'm limited for time to play hence I need to make every minute count.
Connecting with other players in a more 'real life' / 'less shtick' kind of way is my best chance at surviving.

So Dark Pit informed me about the Sandbags and not being available Round 1, glad I didn't waste any cards. Also told me about the BACKGROUND ODD ICONS OUT clue, hence some trust has been built there, liking Dark Pit.
Wario talking about what to do round 1, I informed him not to play due to the Sandbags going to King Debebe, so I've helped him not waste any cards and built some trust.
King Debebe is sneaky, obviously a pro, will need to watch him. Fair chance he found the Smash Ball.

Sheesh, yeah I'm clueless and struggling but meh, I'll keep trying.
So Wario told me he has the Smash Ball by accident.
I'm trying to build something with Wario and Dark Pitt. My arse is on the line next vote.
King Debebe and Kazuya are untouchable and running things. Say all the right things, they're too good.
Dark Pit and Wario I both like and the closest to.
Link may unfortunately have to be my next vote.

Man I'm rusty. I'm already scrambling and it's round 2.
Trying to organize a 3-way with Dark Pit and Wario, off to the side, away from the 2 top dogs in Debebe and Kazuya.
By getting close with Wario and Dark Pit hopefully it will be enough to keep me above Link in the boot pecking order.

Being funny/witty & active would be the main things.
King Debebe (Katie?) & Kazuya are top dogs..
Wario reminds me of Des, god love him. Going hard.
Dark Pit an absolute smokey playing low key, but clued in big time.

Given your concerns about your position, are you putting any thought into which Stages you are/are not comfortable in?
Which duelist do you feel would most benefit your position were they to join the Green Team?

I did have a read through the stages and each I did a little headshake and muttered 'unreal'. I suck at ALL challenges, so my plan is to leave it to the challenge gods and do my best at whatever the ring throws at me.
And I haven't spoken to any duelist, pathetic really, but hamstrung for time and doing the best I can.

You've mentioned time being a limiting factor in your gameplay, are you worried about how that will manifest in this new team with so many people to talk to?

Hey SB,
Trying to up the social game & make a few new connections. My reputation is on par with Duck Hunt, but I feel I’m making in roads, Falco, Samus, Hunty I’ve lifted my ‘warmth level’ from a 1 to a 3 out of 10.
I’ve been telling people I’m now here to play / stepping up the social game / Kings don’t get involved early etc, the tribe swap presents an opportunity to make a fresh start. Time is not something I have in spades so have to use it wisely. Firing of quick/shortish, to the point messages is all I can do to make sure I stay connected to everyone on Pink.
My threat level may be perceived as low, & hence if the 4 reds hold firm they may go after Pit or Debebe, thinking I was on the bottom of green & easiest to rope in & make a solid 5…
I’ve been sowing seeds & spreading the word I like the reds, trying to get in their good books.
If I had my choice I’d boot Robin, came at me hard first message cause I hadn’t messaged her, & she’s clearly running Red, with side kick Samus.
I’m staying loyal to Pit & Debebe, but if Red doesn’t waver the best we can hope for is 4v4, hence a tough call may need to be made. Hope it doesn’t happen cause I love Debebe, & Pit is cool to, even if they don’t think highly of me.
Predicting Pyra & Myrtha will come here after the vote & join with Falco. They’re tight.
Pit & Debebe could throw me under the bus to save their own arses, no hard feelings if they do, it’s a sticky spot. Guess it’s like an old Mexican Standoff, waiting for someone to make the first move…
For the record I occasionally slag off people in my messages who spend a heap of time investing/messaging/big schticks etc. I don’t mean that, quite the opposite in fact, just using that as a way to lower my threat level, & connect with other time poorish people. Much respect to the big players who are putting in a tonne of effort, if I was hosting a game I’d much much more prefer those dudes then the Duck Hunts & KKR’s.
