Okay, I've answered all my PMs so I suppose I'll drop a confessional too.

I feel like I'm being hampered by timezone a touch. It's always the way though. Pyrtha suggested a four of which would suit me too. But they both have a strong leaning for which I don't really share, and I don't think does either (though she may just be creating a feedback loop out of what I was saying).

I've hardly spoken with Cap. We have a bit, one 'flurry' of chats, when we were both here. But apart from that, I get the feeling he's coming from somewhere that has his attention only really available at times when I'm sleeping or working.

Gotta consider too, how much a pair of social slutterflys & actually are. Like we know they were the ones PMing everyone pre-pick. yet they actually came here after Falcon already picked it. Did they enjoy him more than the Red/Green options then?

I do like them both. I'm just trying to be appropriately suspicious.

As of right now I think I've done enough to not get the majority of votes tonight, which is good enough for the first round. I expect an Ike vote to materialise. Ike could well vote for me? Or anyone really.

As soon as I posted this they all bogged off and left me hanging after I'd sent out my "soooo Ike then?" messages. Cap of all people was the only one to get back to me until right now as I'm leaving, Mythra did too.

Seems like a lock on Ike, though Yoshi making plans for Marth when he gets here led to a little confusion somewhere. Yoshi needs to slow down. He ain't guarantee'd to get first pick as I understand it. And even then, Marth has some potential - I think he seems a decent player if he wasn't on holiday rn. Like if he suddenly turned up he could turn up in more ways than one.

So we've seen a round play out now, some thoughts. Always helps to have the clarity of it actually running once.

I'm a little confused that there was less bans than I expected. I thought the duellists also made bans. I suppose Piranha Plant didn't really need to make any if he's selecting anyway (which will make my lists easier) - but I guess only two of the five total actually banned a thing?

A little disappointed we don't get to see who banned what. The conclusions we could extrapolate from that kind of data!! Probably better off not getting bogged down in all that.

Also the deadlines are going to clump. We may not know who is actually on Blue by the time I cast my vote. We'll certainly be unsure during discussions through the day.

Also also, I did note something in the rules I'd missed on first pass - and that is how one of the bags changes during certain shuffle rounds. Now I don't know if these are pre-planned shuffles or this is contigency for a tribe reducing to nothingness, but good to know that it's possible.

This is actually going to be a huge factor the more I think on it. Like if results are called at 7pm, then the next vote is due at 7:50? For reference that is 6am & 6:50am my time, so fat chance of me ever being here.

I have noticed a few status-updaters amongst the cast. I like that lol. Myself, Richter & Mythra on Blue, Dark Pit & Wario on Green (both of whom I'm already fond of) and no-one on Red. Red kinda suck lbh.

I've been playing so much Tracks. I like the balance of the multipliers in it, cos I seem to be averaging 4mins for a 10x10, 2 for an 8x8, and 1 for a 6x6.

It's been seriously painfully quiet today. I suppose it is Sunday, but still. We have a vote very soon and we don't even know who's all casting votes yet. What does Marth think the plan is? :iiam

I've been hanging around the board in the hopes I can run some comms now while I'm here and awake, instead of allowing everything to happen later when I'm unconscious. I suppose I could rearrange my schedule a little and start doing some early mornings if this pattern continues, but ew to that if I can avoid it.

My natural inclination here is to post-whore. I'm going to try temper that a little by restricting it to purely here in confessional. Let's try a Blue Tribe Power Ranking, with some game updates peppered in. Note this is not necessarily how much I like people, just where I think they sit on the averaged totem.

1) Squirtle

Bitch is very clearly and obviously the most popular here. Just look at how he could bid four (4!) for immunity and not one person thought to intercept that. Like Marth man, c'mon, you have to have an inkling. Or maybe he wasn't here to see. Now I'm as guilty as everyone else here - I would see Squirtle as my number 1, and I'd guess I'm not the only one thinking that. He seems to have the strongest bond to Captain Falcon of anyone, which is a big plus. Pyrthra doesn't seem too close there, and Richter has latched on to the idea of a four without him - even hinted Cap as next boot after Marth. Now I don't necessarily believe that's the whole truth, I do think there's some level of bond between Richter/Falcon, but he's distant enough to split his baskets some.

Meanwhile Squirtle is comfortable enough to give no fucks, he just wears it on his sleeve.

2) Me

This could fluctuate. On another day I'd be running paranoid enough to put myself second from bottom, but today I feel confident. I am starting to open up with Cap, and I think I have a good start with Marth too - would be even stronger if he logged in enough to see I was an Ike voter, so I think that much puts me above most. My biggest fear right now is I'm probably seen as overplaying, trying to micro-manage shit I don't need to. Saying too much to the likes of Yoshi. I went and followed four random people today just for shits and giggles.

Positioning-wise, I think most people would vote Marth > new guy > ..maybe Cap? before even considering me. I've been way wrong before, so prep my blindside duel tyia.

3) Richter

Richard continues to be generally solid. One thing I don't like is that he made up his mind to vote Marth early (that's fine), but never communicated that to me (that's not). Either when he did it, or later. Yet he told Squirtle, so that bond is stronger than me<>Richter. He also may have told Yoshi alol. Because Yoshi started telling everyone that Blue Tribe were voting Marth, which led to some confusion when he said it back to both myself & Mythra. I mean he heard it somewhere, and Squirtle is a bit more subtle, seems like probably Richter? Anyway, today Richter tells me that friendship with Yoshi is ended, on account of him being too loose-lipped. Some irony there methinks I quite like that Yoshi told everyone we were doing one thing and then we didn't.

I worry a little that he is more strongly connected to Cap than he's letting on, and if we got to the stage where a Cap boot was mooted, he & Squirtle would just cut me instead. (Paro off mee hed.). He is pretty great, but we're missing a real spark so far.

4) Captain Falcon  

I don't think he cares that he's not super connected? It's an odd schtick, he just pretends to be number and assumes that it follows I enjoy him a lot actually, but I do think the Tribe's Plan A when we have to self-devour would see him first. And he's letting on he'd crush whatever duel. I kinda lean to believing him, especially early while we are facing truels. Another one where I don't really have a spark yet. We're decently communicative with each other, but we haven't had to face any real trials yet. He keeps his cards close to his chest in terms of relationships which I don't like. I mean, I have an idea of what all of Squirtle/Richter/Twins feel about him - but he's really not told me anything about his side of any of that. And it's very hard to get a realistic grasp on things with only one side of the story. I suppose that's my biggest problem with him right now - he's too much of a wildcard & mystery in too many ways. #4 could be the right rating, it could be too low, it could be too generous - I really don't know.

I feel like at best, he has good sway with both Squirtle & Richter (maybe), but on top of that, he should have good sway across the game after the Spectator stands, and being a visible part of todays proceedings - like anyone coming to the tribe might see him as the face of things and the 'Leader' and go to him first. That's a type of political power that boosts him.

5) Pyra & Mythra

The twins deserve to be higher than this, and if it was a personal-preferences rating they'd be higher, maybe even #2. But I think they've been slipping since the initial arrival on the tribe. Rocked up, grabbed the item, made a few bonds then set the game on cruise-control. More power to them, my obsessive ass could never. I'd like to have a good chat with them, and soon, but they seem to never be here all that much. I like how they bid 1 on the attack. That would ensure that Cap didn't just get a freebie.

They are pretty good to chat with, and I have an awkward feeling they rate me very closely - maybe more than I do them. If that's true, I've certainly not capitalised on that as I should.

6) Marth

No surprise here I think? He probably gets the vote later, unless the new guy has a scramble on them. I don't like the idea of voting Marth as a pre-vote before I know whats happening. In Ike's case, I'd have been okay if I voted him but he stayed - I like that idea a whole lot less if I voted Marth and then say, everyone else voted Mario. Because I like Marth a lot - he's just on holidays so he's hardly here. But there's a canny player there if he was putting in a bit more facetime, blunt and straightforward, not afraid to say what he's thinking - I like that a lot.

In terms of Power though, yeah he's dead last right now.

You can include any prospective duelists joining in a pre-vote, but yeah, you're not wrong. Generally you'd find out who goes where before 7:00 pm unless there's a default.

Curse my bleeding heart, once Marth came back it wasn't long before I felt bad voting him and moved him below all the duellists. So much for my "Blue is land of opportunity" tactic.

I pretty much told him I have him on my list too. Not specifically, but he could click it easily if he's paying attention.

Yes and no. I can appreciate a buffer game where you try not to be ^*the most^* [anything] - don't stick out as the most social, most threatening, more boring etc., but can I play it? It's really not my style. I am naturally somewhere between an overthinking mess & pompous ass at my worst - through to a big ol' lightning rod shield for my allies at my best. Both sides of the coin are anything but subtle. So, while I have some designs on maybe playing a co-pilot strategy (with interchanging pilots through the game ), I don't think I can actually stick that out for long before I revert to my old ways.

Do I like it? Sure, seems like the best place to be.

I've been pushing this strategy of trying to come across as a messy tribe, or at least a fun tribe - with the goal of making Blue an attractive place to mutineers. I'm starting to think it's not really worth the effort in a three tribe game. I also see in the Grab Bag rules how it's powers changes in shuffle rounds. .which means of course, there may be some shuffle rounds. Plant kinda blew it by being the one to come last night. No-one knows now that we would have kept Mario or Ike or Yoshi too - even without immunity. It looks like we just booted Marth cos we had to. I mean yeah, I did, but the rest didn't.

Which leads nicely to tonight. Assumption 1 is that we are unlikely to get no-one at all. Mario has tried Red & Green and been booted - why wouldn't he try Blue? And if he loses, Isabelle is still 50/50 to come here. Maybe more if she is online for a chat.

As a sidenote, I totally mansplained to Mario exactly how to bid on immunity, cos he didn't seem to understand that he could both come here and be guaranteed safe.


Back to tonight - do we try to vote on the new arrival? Our other option is to boot Falcon probably? Throw him into the arena (and then pick Big Blue for his home ground )
