Legend! You had a brilliant little arc going on in the pre-merge, with so many complex relationships going on with all of the rest of the cast. There was the Spectator Stands bonds, the discomfort you had with Green, and the uneasy situation with numbers eroding around the tight grouping on Pink. It felt like you had huge protagonist energy, or maybe it's more fitting to say anti-hero? Either way, it made the early merge loss even more of a shock, especially with how fantastic you'd been with all of the previous challenges you'd been trying out. I'll have more to say on that in Yoshi's section, but I definitely think you were more than a little unfortunate there.

I mentioned my love of Kid Icarus: Uprising when you had Dark Pit in your rep list, and you did nail the character. For a bit of backstory, Dark Pit applied a matter of hours after the cast was filled, and I decided to adjust the format to include a 22nd player off the back of the awesome rep choice and the glowing references from the other hosts. I didn't think I'd end up with no drops and 22 players, but rest assured, you were well worth extending the cast for. It wouldn't have been as great as it was without you.

Master Hand

Playing with you for just two rounds in Ghibli was enough to make me highly excited for your casting in this, and you definitely did not disappoint Your live confessional reactions were always instant reads for me and I loved the way you played Dark Pit. It was also fun to see you have to adjust to the differences of the meta in Australian ORGs to those you usually play. On Green you were constantly at your wit's end but the Spectator Stands gave you an escape, and your combination with Robin once you could unite together was glorious to watch. It never occured to me we'd lose you when you did, but Arena often has those sorts of unexpected curveballs, so I suppose it just wasn't meant to be this time. Keen for the next!

Angsty boy I was super impressed by you here. You reminded me of myself a lot in some recent games just being surrounded by people you hated and absolutely owning the social game anyway with little effort. I loved your interactions with other players and I thought you had a really cool take on the Dark Pit character. Personally you were a favourite to watch and I was utterly shocked by your departure. I had you pegged as a finalist just from what I'd heard of your challenge strength but this game really turned the tables on duel favourites with remarkable consistency. Definitely one of the highlight performances for me.

Anyway, you were 100% the main character of the premerge, and ngl my winner pick the whole time (Captain Falcon rose up in week 2, but you were always the main one) so I was shocked that you ended in just 9th place here. You seemed to have connections to everyone, almost everyone you met loved you and you were on top of the world. I was so interested in your dilemma of aligning with Green but secretly hating the tribe, and then jumping ship to Pink immediately This game may not have been a showcase of your challenge skills, but it did show why you're a full package threat because you are great socially and that was still the case here. Had you beat Yoshi in that duel I still think you win the game.
