'Good positioning' is putting it mildly. So many times I thought to myself someone's gotta do something about Dede eventually but no way it could ever be me.

 Masahiro Sakurai So I'll say it first and get it out of the way, but my word, that shtick was not to my liking. It was almost sickeningly cute, and sticking to it in confessional made your usual brand of detail and analysis too hard for me to read.  With that aside, the players seemed to enjoy it a lot more than I did, so who am I to complain? You played a huge role in making the first two weeks so entertaining, forcing rocks for Captain Falcon and then making that move against Wario on Yellow and creating some messiness there. The way your shtick interacted with your gameplay like that was super interesting. Finding the Smash Ball and keeping it a secret while you hoarded cards was brilliant, though I think you pressed your luck just one round too many in the end, and I think deep down, you know that. I won't harp on it, but you'll see the response in the blogs. It's easy to take for granted having seen you play so many times, but the dedication to the cause that you bring is truly beyond compare. From the effort in your confessionals to testing so many of the challenges, it remains just as praiseworthy as ever. That you did that and excelled as someone who isn't a huge Nintendo fan is ridiculous. The addition of the Squirtle Squad sunglasses was one of the funniest things all game, too. Master HandSo there's quite a lot to unpack here  I will also admit to struggling with the text aspects of the shtick, so much so when I was checking Lakitu I had to trust you were following the rules and such, but other than the times when you used GIFs of May's Squirtle I got what you were aiming for there. The obvious contradiction was that the personality of Squirtle clearly could not be that of you the player, yet you managed to avoid scrutiny in so many ways and even when you did make enemies you were able to get them back on side. The card system was a perfect fit for someone like you and the way you got so close to creating a clear path to the end from them was very impressive work. Ultimately it wasn't to be and I get why it was a bitter pill to swallow, but with time and reflection I hope you're able to get perspective on things. You will get that win eventually, you're too good not to. Sandbag I am going to politely ignore everything from your boot onwards while I write this You were pretty much exactly what I expected from Squirtle. I didn't dislike your schtick as much as others but I also actively avoided reading your pm's because... lol. But as far as the game goes you had things on lockdown most of the time. Always had a pulse on the votes, on the dynamics and how to navigate those in ways that kept you safe. If it wasn't for the keen insights of Capzuya at the final 6, you had a guaranteed position at Final Destination and one of the best chances to win of any of the 6. It really was now or never and it's impressive as hell that they managed to pull it off, but I think that your setup in the merge and strategy for the end of the game was just extraordinarily well done. You were literally about as close to winning this game as you could be, and shy a couple of points is where your journey ended. It was all the more compelling for how masterful it was to get yourself there and I am truly impressed that you managed it. I hope with time you'll come to appreciate the totality of that round's machinations because it was one of the best rounds of the game and Turtle Racer Demon made it happen with style, if not cohesion.
I... can't pretend I was in love with Squirtle this game, and I really wanted to be. I did love the amount of passion you had for the game, and had you made it to the end I think you win in a 100% deserved way, without that move on you at 6 nobody had a chance against you imo. It was a very strong game here, though I think you are kinda rewriting history after the fact? Because you had been trying to present Captain Falcon as a shield, which is GOOD GAMEPLAY, but once you won the immunities at the end that would've left Captain Falcon to die even if you didn't vote him yourself and deep down you knew it, so the bitterness that he voted you out before you could doom him is not a good look.
Sorry that this isn't very positive, because you played a great strategic game and the passion you had for this was felt at all points so we were happy for you that you were doing so well here |

Aww I suspected you would be in here somewhere but I never suspected that. Typical that I would try to go up against you in that challenge as well Definitely skipping your confessional though. If it's the usual essay analysis plus the Squirtlespeech I don't think I could bear it. |
