So this has been bugging me all game.
1. Kazuya told you the wrong password, (Though he told you the info was in the news ticker and it was there correctly so you could've checked). It was YELLOWBALL VOLTTACKLE all one word, no comma.
2. If you had entered it correctly, it looks like this:
Congratulations, you've found the Yellow Team's Smash Ball!
... Is what I'd say if someone hadn't beat you to the punch.
Which is the 'confirmation' you were looking for.
3. You told him it worked lol and he never had any idea you didn't know or resented him for any reason. If you had been like... honest with him in this one moment the entire batch of animosity between you two probably doesn't happen.

I don't think I've ever blamed you for Squirtle's reaction to the information and iirc I compared these two situations at the time and thought it was funny to see you be on both sides of it. I was bringing it up here as a an (imo) interesting example of small miscommunications having huge ramifications. Perhaps you could better understand Squirtle's reaction, given your own reaction to a similar situation.

My mind was already made up on Kaz. If the confirmation had come back saying it was already gone, I still would've assumed he had it and was lying. I get it, could've done things differently but the outcome still would've been the same |
