Way way way more, they're up to 37 main seasons, but that doesn't include all the Champs vs All Stars mini seasons, the Spring Break mini season, and all three new All Stars (Legends) seasons.
And the show itself is built on a mountain of Real World and Road World seasons.... and now of course Are You The One, Big Brother, Survivor from multiple continents. Meta Reality Show.

A little birdie told me that you enjoy digging deep into meta concepts and strategy so I have some followup questions Ms Trainer! (Purely for you to munch on with your brain. if you don't want to spend time on these then by all means continue as per normal) I get skeptical about these kinds of players, because if they're messaging me this early (on very little to go on) they're probably messaging everyone. Fair enough, but I guess I'm the kind of player who wants to bet on a few close relationships as a show of authenticity. What are you expecting people to make initial messages based on if not just firing one to everyone they can? Just picking people based on vibe in public, at random? How were you planning to make these few close relationships if not for others reaching out first? But also, every single person in my DMs was hesitant to talk strategy, and instead was mostly just character roleplaying. I guess I'm a gamebot - enough with the pleasantries, if you don't want to get into it with me what are we doing here? This is a good question! What other value do you see these players getting out of this kind of behaviour? In this kind of format I think it benefits me to go into a Team that is less socially active, Would love to see you unpack this. What are the benefits of a team that is less socially active in an arena format?

Sandbag asking all the good questions, putting me in my place.
1. Yeah I guess I feel like I'd rather make a few risky bets on some people, rather than spamming everyone. Even beyond trying to signal authenticity there are two other concerns here:
-- Finite Time. In a world where I have my own life, I'd rather go deep on a few people than spread myself too thin (but I bet this is even true in Survivor on the island!) -- Threat Level. If others realize you're talking to *everyone* clearly you risk getting "social butterfly" reputation
I picked Duck Hunt because just from a few public messages, as they seemed level headed but not too annoying or politically dubious. Who knows, it's a risk, they don't have to be my ride or die or whatever, but I'm trying to take "slightly better than fully random" bets.
Also, I explicitly told Duck Hunt in my initial message that I'm not reaching out to everyone, quite the opposite. That claim itself could be read as a lie or disingenuous, but in the current "meta" I think that's a specific enough claim to make that it will come off as genuine. lol who knows I guess I'll see!
2. I think some initial roleplaying banter is good and important, like if I rush too fast into strategy I probably seem like a gamebot creep without social skills. Fine, I'm not expecting it all at once. But it's a game of slowly building up to that trust, and I felt like the little feelers I'd drop ("so, what do you think about the format?") would be rebuffed or sidestepped. You need to feel that momentum slowly building, especially when we had such limited time before picking teams. In that limited time window, I was trying to find one or two people to buddy up with into a team (in the end I only found Duck Hunt).
3. I'm not sure if I 100% understand the format yet but... there aren't team challenges right? Only The Duel, right? In this sense the format is actually most similar to The Challenge's The Island (S16?), a pretty infamous season (and I think that season even has three that enter the duel, if I recall?). btw that season is especially politically fucked, but underrated in terms of pure game design drama.
Anyway, unlike in Survivor, I don't have to worry about a strong team to keep myself out of Tribal. We're always "going to Tribal" and therefore I just need an ironclad voting bloc. Inactives in my tribe are less likely to be jockeying for early Tribe alliances, which will probably make it easier to quickly form a solid four. And, inactives become good fodder for sending into The Duel.
lol I suspect I will better understand the format as we progress so, these thoughts may get updated...

You're on your Challenge journey too? I've been watching them all at a pretty slow pace, but I just finished Gauntlet 2 a couple days ago It was an okay season, hilarious start and ending though.

Questions for Masahiro Sakurai: 1.) Wait, I'm still trying to wrap my head around Attack Card timing. Say I play some cards to bid on Shield on Monday 6pm. But I'm also voted into the Duel that night, and come back on a different team. When exactly are my cards counted, and against who? As far as I can tell, they're counted against my current (Monday) team, and if I'm the highest bidder, I have Immunity against my new team vote on Tuesday evening? Is that right? In theory, two people could have immunity then in a tribe the same vote, is that correct? Sorry to be a bit dense on this. 2.) Am I.... allowed to communicate with everyone in the game via the public boards currently? (I know DMs aren't allowed). I ask because usually there wouldn't be a mechanism for this in Survivor.

I ask because usually there wouldn't be a mechanism for this in Survivor. 1: So cards are resolved at the same time as votes. If you win the shield, you will have the immunity power that belonged to the team you were on before you went to the duel. That immunity will apply for any team you join and would persist until someone on the original team bids to claim it. Your theoretical scenario is entirely correct too; two (or in an incredibly rare scenario, three) people on one team can be immune. 2: Banter on the public boards is allowed, you just can't make threads. The idea behind this is to allow for questions to be asked and responded to in public for all to see, and for a bit of light banter as well.

1. "That immunity will apply for any team you join and would persist until someone on the original team bids to claim it."
Wait but presumably the votes are tallied *right* before cards as resolved right? Like, let's say someone else on my original team bids a lot for immunity on Tuesday night. That doesn't "take away" the immunity I won on a bid on Monday night, right?
2. So... does that mean I shouldn't send any explosive accusations / strategy talk in the public forum? i.e. the banter should only be "light"?

If you win immunity it is for the NEXT round. So if you win it on Monday night, it makes you immune from the Tuesday vote if that makes sense? But someone else from your team can bid to win immunity on Tuesday night. Of course, if no one bids for it, you keep immunity for the Wednesday vote.
