The Castlevania series features members of the Belmont family of vampire hunters. A much-requested addition, Simon and Richter were finally added to the roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, alongside the primary setting of the series in the form of the Dracula's Castle stage. Exploring the sprawling, labyrinthine castle forms the essence of most entries in the series, helping to popularise the Metroidvania genre of action-adventure games with non-linear exploration.
This challenge relies on your general knowledge and your inductive reasoning skills. You'll be trying to clear levels of Dracula's Castle by guessing the next element in some sequences. An example sequence is below:
"The first item in a sequence is A. Write "LEVELTWO" followed by the next item."
The answer, in this case, would be LEVELTWOB. Typing the correct answer will give you a trigger image, confirming that you've answered correctly. You should pay close attention to the format of the sequences; if a sequence is comprised of a full name, for example, you will also need to answer with a full name for it to be considered correct. Similarly, be careful with spelling; the word-trigger system will only recognise correct spellings, so beware of typos and such.
Unlike previous versions of the challenge, this version will be non-linear, in a nod to classic Metroidvanias. This means you can tackle the levels of Dracula's Castle in any order you please. When you begin the challenge, you'll see a forum with 20 threads, with "Level X" as the title, each containing one of the sequences. You will try to answer each sequence in your confessional within a time limit of 20 minutes.
Your score in this challenge will not be your total number of correct answers, however. Instead, it will be the highest streak in levels you are able to assemble. For example, if you correctly answered levels 1, 2, 4 and 5, your score would be 2, and you would lose to somebody who correctly answered levels 1, 2 and 3, scoring 3.
The player(s) with the highest score(s) will survive the arena and, if applicable, select a tribe to return to. The loser will be eliminated from the game. In the event of a tie, it will be broken in favour of the player with the second-highest streak, and so on. If still tied after this, it will be broken by the fastest time to assemble their largest streak.
