The first stage from a non-Nintendo owned franchise to appear in the series is Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Shadow Moses Island. In the Metal Gear Solid series, Shadow Moses Island is a prominent location in the first and fourth entries. Located off the coast of Alaska, Snake infiltrates the island for intelligence on a top-secret test launch, and to stop Liquid Snake and to destroy Metal Gear REX, who appears in the background of the stage. This duel is loosely inspired by the series' signature Codec conversations.
You'll take on the role of Snake trying to make his way through the island, receiving lists of possible passwords in five sets of four. However, on the island, the signal is jammed, so these passwords will have the vowels and punctuation removed, and the spaces between words jumbled. Your task will be to work out what each of the original passwords is. You'll also have the aid of knowing the category for each of the possible passwords.
Below is an example of a category and a Missing Vowels expression.
Countries and Their Capitals
1a: ST RND VNN
For this expression, the correct answer would be 1a: AUSTRIA AND VIENNA. In the actual challenge, categories will span various topics and may require a degree of lateral thinking. You will score one point for each expression you correctly identify, within the time limit of 15 minutes.
To give an answer for each expression simply post the category number and the expression's letter followed by your answer in your duel thread, just like in the example above. Make sure it is very clear to us what expression your answer is for; if we're in any way unsure when tallying your answer, we'll consider it incorrect. There is no need to answer in any particular order, so feel free to try different categories or expressions if you get stuck. You may also change your answer for an expression as many times as you like before the time limit passes. Of course, we will only consider the most recent answer for each when tallying.
The player(s) with the highest score(s) will survive the arena and, if applicable, select a tribe to return to. The loser will be eliminated from the game. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the player who reached the tied score in the shortest time.
