The F-Zero series features futuristic high-speed racing, and has been part of Super Smash Bros. since its inception. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, it finally received its own stages, one of which is the iconic Big Blue. The stage features Captain Falcon's ship, the Blue Falcon following a race in progress along the stage of the same name. This duel will involve following a race as well, as you yourself race to work out the finishing order of the racers.
In practice, the duel will have two components. The first part of the challenge will involve solving some mathematical puzzles. Each mathematical puzzle you solve will form a password for the next board, where you will see some clues to the finishing order, as well as the next mathematical puzzle. These puzzles will involve a list of nine numbers grid that contains a system of equations like this:

Numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12
To solve the puzzle, you must figure out which number goes where in the grid to make every equation work. Reading these numbers from left-to-right, then top-to-bottom will form the password you need. For the example above, this password would be 83114151226, since 8+3=11, 4+1=5, etc.
The second part of this challenge is a logic puzzle. As you progress through the boards, you will unlock hints to the finishing order of the race. Each racer will be identified by a letter of the alphabet. These hints will let you gradually rule out possibilities for the racers, but it will be up to you when to stop solving puzzles to find the final answer. The board for the final answer will be accessible from the start, and the finishing order for the race will form a password. For example, if there were three racers, A, B, C, and they finished in that order, the password for would be 1A2B3C.
The correct password will give you a completion image. Posting it in your duel thread will stop your clock for the challenge. The fastest time(s) will survive The Ring and, if applicable, select a team to return to. The loser will be eliminated from the game.
