The first week of the game is coming to an end, and the player count continues to dwindle. This upcoming round is the last round before there will be a Team Swap, into two teams!
I know I promised a game with minimal unforeseeable twists, but I'd like to think this was possible to see coming. With the current format, it is possible for one team to have two players immune on it without the other teams having the opportunity to do anything about it, and we'd all prefer to avoid the scenario where someone is voted into The Ring by default, or for a team to be reduced to just two members.
Here's how it will work:
- This current round will play out as normal; see the Round 5 thread I posted earlier today.
- During the round, you will rank every player in the game in your Votes Thread, from 1-17/18, depending on whether the duel result has been revealed yet.
- These rankings will be used to conduct a snake draft into two teams, the Yellow Team and the Pink Team
- This schoolyard pick will go Y-PP-YY-PP-YY, and so on, with the Yellow Team picking first.
- I will reveal the swapped teams immediately after tomorrow's duel is revealed at 9:30 pm
- When making your pick, we will select the highest player not on your current team if one is available; we'll skip teammates if need be, so feel free to include them high on your list anyway
- The two surviving duelists from the round will list preferences for Yellow/Pink, and complete the swapped teams
Since the round will feature the number of teams changing, the power of the Grab Sandbag will be different for this round. The Spectator Stands will not be used over the weekend. Instead, the three winners of the Grab Sandbags will either go to The Ring immune or become a captain of the Yellow or Pink teams. The Grab Sandbag bidders will also list what team they'd prefer to captain, or whether they'd go to The Ring immune, as Yoshi did in the first round. They will compete in the first duel of the phase, from Sunday night. Preferences will be given according to the Attack Sandbag rules. Additionally, in this round, players voted into The Ring can't win the Grab Sandbag.
As an extra incentive, the Grab Sandbag recipients will also be the only ones informed of the exact order in which teams were chosen. They'll also be the default holders of any powers that don't get bid on.
In addition, for this round only, to ensure equal access to immunity, the Shield Sandbag will be decided after the swap is finalised. I will reveal the recipients after the duel results so that one person per team is immune. Should nobody bid or a tie void the bids, the captain will receive immunity. The Attack Sandbag will work as normal.
Finally a reminder; after the swap, your team's boards will be hidden. If there is any information on them you wish to retain, you should make a record before tomorrow night's deadline! Let me know if you have any questions!
