Squirtlewhooooops almost forgot to mention the most enjoyable development of the day! Got talking to duckhunt who seems pretty great (and also pretty doomed but hey 1 out of 2 there is not bad) and one of the knowledgebombs dropped is that Wiifit was in a core alliance on red before self-voting and then planning her own boot so she could badmouth red from the ring and then scope out the competition. While holding a smashball. Which just adds a whole nother layer of absurdity to that random wiifit encounter somewhere in the midsst of last season's week's madness.
Other miscellanea while I'm here:
- Other news from duckhunt is the ostensible crossteam alliance of darkpit/dedede/samus/robin, who all agreed to ditch one of their own number in kingcruel and duckhunt and may or may not have sold their souls to Falco/pyramythra in some arcane ritual or other. I don't know. If I had to bet on yes/no I probably do believe it, but I doubt the boots are getting the full picture and suspect the blues are the ones actually running rings. Either way it seems we can probably expect the week's first mario boot next. And I'm certainly not complaining if we can receive ringduel winners with actual vendettas against not us.
- In speculating about a potential alliance of exactly this kind, the Captain termed it a Christmas Nightmare. And I'm officially going to steal that term and make it squirtleselfsown as soon as I can get away with it.
- I tried to scheme and plot some with yoshi to make him use the attacksandbag for evil by forcing one of the duelis's worst nightmare upon them, rather than yoshi's which happened to be one of my ideal challenges. Obviously, this did not work and yoshi seemed even less willing to play ball then that time I sneakily asked about how many eggs were on the team as it wasn't explicitly forbidden by his initial rules. Unfortunately he's very much a spirit of the rules kind of guy and isn't showing any appreciation of my cheek. Yet. I do still hope to corrupt him eventually, os watch this space.
- Please ignore that weak moment of plantkind mercy a few posts back. The delicate state of things with Kazuya and the surprisingly decent ally potential of kingcruel and even duckhunt make anything other than the planned panned plant boot here a true nogo. Consider it a balance of the cosmic entertainment scales for last Tuesday's overexcitements. Please. Please.
- Beyond that... might there be mess again...? Well I keep accidentally aligning with everyone
so it is indeed looking like it. Guess we're praying for a mario elimination and defection for ease of revolvingdoor... and we all know just how punctually those prayers have been answered in the past...
