Wario needs to just stop being so adversarial whenever the vote doesn't turn out the way he thought. He oscillates wildly between fun madman and way too intense at the best of times, but lately, it has been much more the latter than the former. It's bad for his game and not really fun for anyone. He's been going at it with both Robin and Dedede for some reason tonight. Add that to Squirtle from earlier, and it has gotten to the point where he'd be a goat for most of the people remaining if the prospect of getting to the end with him wasn't unbearable to them. I'd love to see him work on snuffing out those self-destructive tendencies in these games, because the investment is clearly there to keep up with these experienced players. As for what Wario can do now? If he's clever enough, he can tell everyone he's using his best cards on Shield, and then use his 2nd best, only to then bust out the 43 the round after. If Squirtle doesn't use the Smash Ball, that would see him through to the final week, and I feel like Squirtle is likely to sit on it a little bit longer. In other news, Dark Pit murdered the duel in less than four minutes, and I fully expect K Rool to lose. It's been a great game at points from K Rool; a miracle win would make it an excellent one, but it has been awesome to see regardless. Very aware and efficient with his time.

I think I've kind of figured Wario out. I think he sees the game like Survivor edits it. There are a handful of main characters (of which he HAS to be one of them) and everything else is framed as some clear power structure. There's the leader of an alliance and a bunch of followers. That's it. Very Russell Hantzian.
You can see this in how he presents himself and his ideas, and how he is treating Robin for counteracting him, or how he reacted to Squirtle having agency back on Yellow despite doing a cute schtick, etc. He literally edits out people unimportant to his story by not talking to them until he can personally use them.
When in actuality, you've got 10 varying degrees of enthusiast, each with strategic acumen, unique personality quirks and motivations that must be juggled and appeased in order to create working relationships.
Like, if he took a step back and treated the game as 10 individual people with autonomy rather than trying to bifurcate every scenario into these Leader/Follower dynamics... he'd probably be doing a lot better.

I had some stray thoughts reading the latest confessionals, yay.
Robin definitely deserves a ton of credit for how quickly last night's vote came together because it really was basically all her doing. Asserting herself in that exact moment was much needed, and the way Wario got baited into stray voting and spiralling will help her push him as a target in the future. With the merge she has really come to play, kicking ass and making the most of the reprieve in her duel.
Captain Falcon's last confessional on Squirtle hits on how his situation could get really dicey soon. He is counting on Squirtle getting thrown in ahead of him, but he doesn't realise that it isn't likely that he even gets a say in the matter. Squirtle has done an amazing job at holding onto his cards, and nobody is talking about it. If Squirtle is able to claim the Shield for two or three straight rounds, there will be nothing Captain Falcon can do but duel if people want to split them up. We've seen the same kind of thing happen with Pythra and K Rool, too, where they're targeted in place of an immune player. He'll need the others to act soon or to take matters into his own hands.

Squirtle being an absolute scuzzbucket right now, seeding all sorts of doubt on whether Wario or Kazuya has the Yellow Smash ball lol.

This is a Dark Pit vs Yoshi duel, likely to be selected by Squirtle. Really cool how Pink has managed to pry Kazuya from the Gold clutches in a sense here; I'm interested to see how he handles the next round while he's immune. Does he protect Captain Falcon and Squirtle, or stick with Robin's crew who saved him earlier?
