Still giggling at the irony of ~the early bird gets the worm~ promptly followed by my sleeping through the scramble window.
I'm not sure what Kazuya's vote there was about. Did he vote Dede thinking him easier to beat? I don't see why he would think he was avoiding the duel. And if he knew that it was him v Falcon, or else him v Dede, then surely the reward for beating Falcon and that F6 would be worth the risk of a tougher opponent.
Or was he snowed in some manner? Honestly I don't even want to ask him because I don't know if I can be delicate enough to do that in a non-condescending manner. The twit Maybe it was out of spite if we weren't willing to do Yosh/Wario, or maybe he is just that loyal to Cap. I don't think I want to know.
It does reduce our relationship to a very transactional one. Kinda fitting after my complaints about it being all formal work emails (and just hard work in general). He's a CEO after all, I shoulda seen it coming. And whether it's he or Dede that emerges, the plan remains the same. Stick together, see if we can somehow woo Wario, take a potshot at Cap(?). So at least now we can talk honestly about whatever. Oh god, if he cast this vote out of loyalty for Cap, maybe I can't even count on that. Go Dede I guess?
Other than all that, I'm kind of relieved to have a simple route now. Win or die is order of the day, and there's slim to no chance of bucking that trend. I can afford a one-time bid of 23 on Shield somewhere along the way, but I don't think that's going to be enough whether I splurge after the first, or try scrimp it a round or two.
That frees me up to talk honestly and openly with people, though we have precious little to talk about unless your name is Wario. I do believe that Cap/Squirt's route here will be to get to F4 then set Yoshi vs Wario if they can do that. And I do believe this coming round is a chance to do something about that. But it's not his only chance - F5 he could do something too, and who knows what cash he has on hand. So I'll pitch it, and he might bite, but he's been more loyal to them up to now than I expected , so I'm [lowering my expectations] that this time will be any different.

Two interesting things happening this weekend. Though I did take the day away from the board. Trying to get Wario/Kazuya/me to put votes on Cap. Wario has some interest but it will hinge around Kazuya being down. I don't think it's critical that it works out tbh. Like it's probably me v Cap as opposed to me v Kazuya. Some dream result of Kazuya v Cap but I'm not even considering getting that result here So I probably have to duel and win regardless. So what is important is that Wario is primed for it into next round. I need him to start thinking hard about how come F4 he will be pit against Yoshi if Cap/Squirtle get their way. He is talking about a me/him/Yoshi F3 which I would be all about (lesbehonest, any F3 with me included I'd be all about). I mean, if it could actually be Cap in the Arena and KOd it would sure make for all sorts of interesting possibilities around the egg-vote in the future, but right now the egg-vote is back to sucking the opportunities out of things. Interesting thing #2 is why on earth did Kazuya vote Dede last round? The answer is probably simply that Dede & I didn't keep him up to speed enough. I wasn't even here, and I assumed he & Dede talked more but maybe they didn't at all? :iiam But instead of taking the simple answer as a given, I am more prone to draw wild conclusions like that infact - Cap/Squirtle/Yoshi/Kaz are one step ahead and about to make this 2-2-2 split with me v Wario instead of the expected me v Kaz.
I mean that doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you look into it - they could have put Wario in last round in that case But still, my mind works in mysterious ways.
Best hope here is that I can get both Wario & Kazuya onboard a Cap vote. Gets beaten by me/Kaz. idk what happens at F5 in that case. Target Squirtle? Seems risky to leave Kazuya alive.
More likely this doesn't play out, and it's me v Kaz. Still gotta win, but F5 is both worse but simpler. Either my vote carries a lot more weight or it doesn't matter at all.

I'll be on the lash tonight too which further increases the chance of nothing unusual happening this round. Drunk by the time people get here and hungover in the morning? Yeah no surprises here.
I'd better pre-vote now just in case.

Well, I'm back. 1:30 after a Saturday night - but not as drunk as I feared. But still rather unlikely to return before the vote.
Two PMs in my box is a solid indication of my chances here though. Neither being from Wario is bad news.

Yoshi is so delighted with organising the last split vote that I haven't the heart to tell him it was super obvious & it seems to hinge on taking advantage of Kazuya's idiocy I mean, well done for that part, but lets not pretend this was a 3-2-1 or anything, all you did was keep Cap out of the ring

Well no Wario, not a whole lot going on. Kaz knows now what I'd like to see happen. His vague ~disconnect~ vibe means I've no idea if he actually wants the same. Wario ain't going to be in unless he believes Kazuya is. idk how much they are talking. "Some" is best I can tell. I'm heading to bed because this game already owes me many hours of sleep, and spending any more here tonight is not helping anything. In fact it'll probably make things worse in a delirious sense of the word. I imagine it's like training for real Survivor. Sure anyone sitting on the couch can see why that's a terrible decision. But try it two night's missing sleep or an empty stomach and maybe you make the same fuck ups

Damn, I love the Group PM function.
It's misused so often - it's NOT for Group alliances to communicate. But a time like this where you want to drag two strays together?
Mmmmh *chefkiss*

It would have been better an hour from now, after those two talked a bit. But I can't afford the time penalty that would entail.

Dammit, Kaz has got the Squirtle scare in my head now about him being immune forever. He won't play it tonight as he expects it to be Cap even in worst case - so all the more reason to make it him now (despite all the Cap fears I laid out before now ). But the only way to switch it up is if Wario thinks it's his idea, I can't just say hey it's Squirtle now and go to bed. And I am going to bed in ten minutes (4am fuck that) one way or another.

Wario be logging in to the rare quintuple PM If Squirtle does have the Smashball it ain't the end of the world. Any FTC I'm in is better than none. I can't stress too much any more about this one or that.

On the downside I wasn't a part of that vote in the end. But as a positive nom nom nom gimmie that Squirtle Jury vote tyvm. We're gonna have to bond over this betrayal before he leaves.
