Thank you for being part of Super Smash Arena: Ultimate! This is your confessional area, a private space that is yours to do what you like with. We've even disabled the post counter, so nobody will see how much or how little you confess. You can use your confessional to do any or all of the following:
- Explain your strategies - Talk about your experiences - Ask the hosts questions - Store information and resources
plus anything else you can think of. Just bear in mind that whatever you say will be visible to all once the game ends. To help you along, the hosts will pop in from time to time to ask questions. Feel free to answer them in as much or as little detail as you like, or not at all, whatever you prefer. In addition to this, your confessional will be where you:
- Cast votes - Play attack cards - Pick and ban stages - Compete in The Ring
Check your other stickied threads for more info on the first three of those. Good luck, and have fun!

Hi. I am here but I cbb PMing twenty-one people right now so I am just going to chill for the time being and let them approach me if they want to. I will decide what I want to do about picking a team a bit later. I barely comprehended all the additional nonsense about attacks and sandbags or whatever so I will probably just ignore that until the weekend. From what I gathered, I do not expect it to be immediately critical anyway. I will write a proper introductory confessional later as well, once I have worked out wtf I am actually doing here. In other words, I am winging this, just as any master strategist does, even if they will not admit to it.

How is it possible that you make a floating disembodied ghost hand sexy? You're one of a kind, baby.
In other news, my first instinct is to emulate my success as Link by just choosing a team straight away, taking one or two people that I like, and hoping for the best since I really haven't established enough of a network to attempt anything else yet. I was thinking of trying to play a beta role in this since it suits the character to be a lead-from-behind type of player but I am just so desperate for the validation that comes from being an alpha king in these games that I'm not sure I can pretend otherwise. I'll have to see how things progress once we are sorted into teams.

Well, pretty glad that I made that choice now considering what happened afterwards. Lol at the green team filling up so quickly. I wonder if that was planned at all? I didn't speak to any of those people so I am not sure how active they were. Most of the people I did speak to and enjoyed went to the blue team. A bit of a shame to miss out on that but, truthfully I would much rather be here on the chill rando team (I am hoping that this will be the case) that can just cycle out duelists for the first few rounds and remain relatively low maintenance until the first swap.

Hi Robin,
Great to have you with us in this epic tournament! As our dear creator Masahiro said, feel free to use this space however you wish. However, to help get you get started, feel free to share your thoughts on the following questions:
1. What do you make of the Arena format and how will it impact on the way you choose to play?
2. What considerations came into play when you selected the Red Team?
3. Which fellow players did you find yourself drawn to in the first day?
4. Conversely, have you already made any enemies? Is there anyone on your Team that you aren't happy to see there?
5. Finally, do you have any thoughts on the Sandbags and how will they affect your approach to the game?
Feel free to reach out to the hosting team at any time if you have any questions. We’ll try to get back to you as quickly as possible.
Otherwise, we hope you have fun in this tournament and best of luck with being crowned Smash Arena: Ultimate Champion!

I love how Crazy Hand can revert from a disturbing hand trying to seduce you to just being a robotic hand asking you a mountain of questions.

She ain't called Crazy for nothing. I'll take the robotic questions though since I have been slacking in the confessional department. Here is some dope fanart of Robin to make up for it: Idk why he's eating the hilt of his sword but whatever. Purple shadowy stuff and lightning!!! I have played in arena multiple times before so I am familiar with the format. Indeed, so far this appears to be nearly identical to Hyrule Warriors. The format has both advantages and disadvantages over Survivor. For one, the lack of team-based challenges is welcome for those of us that are not consistent in that regard. On the flipside of that, however, is having to vote somebody out every single round which can very quickly become overwhelming. From my experience, the main difference between the two formats is that a more fluid approach works best in arena. I do not think large majority alliances have the same kind of success as they often do in Survivor. From the little I have gathered, I may be one of the few with the knowledge and experience of the format which should work in my favour. It also plays into my character as a tactician which is a fun bonus. I suspect this will be especially important at the merge, in which navigating split votes and keeping track of various lies and schemes is crucial for success. As usual, my main fear is the challenges. I am very much hit-or-miss when it comes to my performances in most challenges and I tend to suffer from anxiety which can further impede my abilities. The do-or-die nature of duels is particularly damning for me because of that. With that in mind, I do appreciate the addition of, not only knowing the duel concepts in advance, but having some kind of control over which one we must compete in. There are some concepts that I know I can slay if I am in the right mindset and others I know I will never be able to win so hopefully I will be able to use that to my advantage if and when I am forced to face my fears in the arena. Honestly, my main reason for choosing this team was because nobody had yet and it secured me the additional advantages for the round. Immunity, access to the spectator stands, and the clue to the Smash Ball. None of these are things I particularly wanted for myself, rather I wanted to keep them out of the hands of others. I am confident enough in my own strategic and social skills that I do not usually feel the need to rely on these sorts of advantages, but having to keep track of what other players may or may not have up their sleeve can be a real headache. On top of that, being the first person to join allowed me to see what kind of impression I had made on the others... The fact that nobody I spoke to followed me here is perhaps telling in that regard It does seem like I may have landed myself on the dud team. Our overall activity appears to be low and we do not have any of the other standouts from the first day. However, given the nature of the format, this could actually be a boon rather than a bane. My initial read is that the blue team has a lot of the typically strong social players and the green team has the overeager types with some sort of alliance or agreement in place already. I suspect that the red team will be the most appealing to join for the duelists in the arena which is a key factor in maintaining numbers early on. On the first day, I enjoyed speaking with Richter, Dark Pip and Squirtle the most. I would like to possibly reconnect with some or all of those but I am not counting on it. I didn't manage to set up a "divide and conquer plan" ala Link and Zelda due to the short timeframe before the selection as well as my own laziness in reaching out to anyone. I suppose I could try with Captain Falcon and King Dedede but it is a bit difficult to arrange something with members of all three tribes. I have not gotten the best vibes from either of them anyway. Falcon immediately lying about the Smash Ball and then admitting to it shortly afterwards is a red flag to me. Of course, I am not against lying per se, and expect to do quite a lot of it myself throughout the course of the game, but lying for the sake of it, or without any obviously significant gain, is something I have little patience for. Anyway, I did also reach out to Marth and Ike on the first day, due to our common origins, but Ike never replied and Marth was kind of... Not what I expected, to say the least Falcon has referred to them as less active than the others on his tribe, so I suspect that they could be voted out soon and I may have the chance to reconnect with them then. I do not have any enemies that I know of. Some of my own team is somewhat lacklustre though. Samus is my main girl. She was sucking dick in her very first message to me which is a guaranteed entry into my heart. As for the rest of the tribe? ...Meh. The Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt both seem competent enough and I guess we are going to be a "tight four" while we are here or something. Yes, I know, I am yawning with boredom just typing that out. It's not something I feel particularly committed to right now but, due to a lack of oother options, I will go along with it for the time being. The Wii Fit Trainer is a keen strategist and was able to secure the Smash Ball for herself since I couldn't really be bothered with it. She completely ignores all of my roleplaying though which is a good half of the enjoyment I derive from these games so I am not so sure we are meant for each other long term. Duck Hunt has a bit more going on in the fun banter department, even if the dog half of him is rude as hell and practically begging to be put down. Isabelle and DK have both been very brief so far so I don't have much to say about them. I see that Mario did make an appearance in the main board but he failed to make his way over here so he ought to get his arse into gear or else he will be the first one voted out. Oops, I should probably reread the sandbags things at some point (as well as the duel concepts which I have not even opened yet) to reconfirm how it all works. From what I gathered it seems like a nice, balanced twist. It gives us all something extra to do and talk about, and possibly alter the course of things somewhat, but it isn't likely to be game changing one way or another either. I will play it passively for now since I do not see any immediate advantage in it for me personally. Once I have had some time to see how others are using it, and digest it all for myself, I will reconsider my approach. I believe that is all for now. I am not going to be around much over the weekend but I do not expect that to matter much, given the state of my tribe. I will try to post a short update later on about whether we are going to boot Mario or DK first. Before I depart, I did get a laugh out of this: I hopefully don't self-vote myself out of the game. That would be quite the blemish on my record, wouldn't you say? Isabelle calling me the fuck out in her very first message.

I definitely am crazy but even I haven't self-voted myself out of a game Looking forward to the rest of your thoughts as you digest the format and the mechanics!

Lol at the Wii Fitness Trainer like lowkey coming at me for talking to Yoshi and telling him stuff that was both obvious and unimportant. I suppose I did tell like three people that she was dry, oops. She isn't exactly disproving my point though, is she?

Please, Captain Falcon ...the track?! Where I come from you don't need a track. I could be halfway from here to the Lylat System before you could warm up one of your branded right hooks. Speaking of, what else do you announce right before doing it? But I shouldn't jab. We're pretty much in the same field, it seems? I wipe out alien races, and you get wiped out racing aliens. Just a matter of perspective I guess. This is what I call a KO, if not a downright fatality.
