Welcome to The Afterscape. Population: Dwindling.
I'm resigned to going into the ring tonight. I got thrown about here and there like an umbrella in a hurricane and my one time (ok, 7th time) not listening to my gut has produced another scandalous lack of direction or options. I'm forced to reach out to Falco, the proficient liar, and grovel at his feet for a chance to switch things up. I doubt highly that he'll come through in any meaningful sense unless he's feeling saucy and chaotic, but I refuse to sit on my demonic hands and let it come without effort. Curse my pride, and also the dubious position I allowed myself to succumb to.
Aaaaaaand just then Squirtle won, and so who the hell knows anymore!!!

So, since my last missive, several ups and downs. Squirtle survived only to come back and twist himself around to get at me when other options were available. Clearly Squirtle sees what I see, that he's better off bringing Yoshi and Wario to the end because that leaves him as the only viable option for sane people to prefer in a vote. I have only three solaces. One, I survived being put into a duel with Dedede, who was a gentlemen in defeat. Two, Wario made a fool of himself in the meeting and by the end both I and Dedede were dunking on him until he faded off into his dank corner. And three, Cap'n is professing that he also sees the Squirtlese writing on the wall and is determined not to fall into that trap before it's irreversible. That is what he says... I am glad to hear that from him, but I am not naive. This could very well just be a placating move to both keep me in line and ensure my vote stays away from joining Falcos towards him. I very much want to trust Captain, and his words seem sincere, but I wouldn't put it past Squirtle at this point. And the real kicker is that it is unnecessary, since even a 2-2-2 split means they can just decide to send me in regardless. So it's either needlessly giving me hope and an exercise in bravado, or Cap'n is going to come through for me in the clutch and make one last stand at giving himself a chance at a win, let alone myself. I've also decided that no matter what, I cannot vote for Yoshi at FTC. His style of play, essentially making himself a pawn and thus not even needing to participate in the majority of what this game is, is abhorrent to me. A cowardly strategy predicated on him no doubt knowing his challenge proclensity and choosing to rely upon it at the expense of other's game potential. If I arrive on the jury and he's present, I intend to make this case plain and explosive, to the end of him not succeeding off of this heinous perversion of the struggle everyone else had to endure. Wario is just an ass and shall not either be receiving my vote. Squirtle has calculated rightly at least in my case, that of those 3, I'll be forced to choose him despite the multiple betrayals. Such is the game, and I'll choose my CSO/Moblo-wrangler over a willing pawn and a simply unpleasant person. Back to today, there's simply no time, or even people online enough to make any headway in a plan besides the avenue offered by Captain Falcon. My mixtape friend and perhaps only trusted ally left, and even that last part is severely in question due to the pressures of the game. I will either be squeezed out tonight like so much Tekken toothpaste and be forced to battle for my life again, a fight I need all the luck in the world in, or Cap'n comes miraculously through for me and the fight begins anew tomorrow. > :)
