This thread will outline the important rules to follow throughout your time in this game, in nice, easy-to-digest list form. Once you've read and understood these, post in this thread acknowledging such. In enforcing these rules, there may be times when we are required to make judgement calls as to how to handle these situations. We want to reassure you that any such decisions will be made as fairly as possible. It is difficult to keep everyone happy and you're welcome to express frustration with any rulings we make, but please bear in mind that any decisions we make will be final.
- Editing and deleting posts is not allowed; the Security Log tells us when this occurs, and repeated violations of this rule will be penalised
- Deleting private messages (PMs) is also forbidden
- You may only PMs players in the same team as you, with the exception of players currently duelling, who can message anyone.
- All PMs must include Lakitu, the camera account. For more info on this, see the Camera thread.
- PMs are to remain private; quoting PMs from others outside of your confessional, fake or otherwise, will be penalised. You may paraphrase, but in general, if you use the quote function, quotation marks or a screencap, you have violated this rule, so be aware.
- This is a game and it's meant to be fun; it's okay to express any emotions you might feel, but remember the person behind the player at all times
- Harassment, threats of harm, or vilification will not be tolerated, especially surrounding gender, identity, race and sexual orientation.
- We're also bound by the Proboards terms of service, which are all common-sense rules to follow. No adult content or Covid misinformation here, please.
-In the case where a player is inactive for extended periods or multiple rounds, we reserve the right to remove them, though we would hope this is taken care of on its own by the cast.
- This game is Closed-ID; disclosing who you are to any other player in the game is grounds to be disqualified and immediately removed from the game, as a player or a juror.
- You should also avoid divulging information that could be used to narrow down your ID, including references to specific events or prior games you've played.
- Do not speculate about the IDs of other players outside of your confessional.
- All communication about this game must only occur on this board, except for contacting a host.
- Your account information must not be shared with anyone.
- You must not change your profile or account settings on here without asking a host.
- To prevent flouting these ID rules, you should avoid using a proxy or VPN to access this board; contact me if you have a compelling need to do so.
- Each player will vote somebody into the arena each round, using the "Votes" thread in your confessional
- Failure to cast a valid vote by the deadline stated will result in you casting a self-vote
- In the event of a tie, a revote will occur between the tied players in which they do not vote, and everyone else may only vote for one of them
- Where a tie happens, a 10 minute-period will be given for those online to change their votes if necessary, however, you may leave votes in the form of a preference list if you won't be there, and we will go down that list for any ties
- If the tie remains unresolved, the tied players will become safe, and the remaining non-immune players will draw rocks to randomly decide who enters the arena
- These tie rules will also apply to the Final Destination vote to decide the winner. If the vote remains deadlocked between two players, the third-place player will break the tie, but only after any votes for that player are redirected as per the above.
- Players voted into The Ring or losing a duel will be given a short window to sway their farewells to the team or the game.
- Duels will be revealed at 9:00 pm each night of a vote, and you will have 22 hours to complete one.
- Competing in a duel must only happen in your confessional, preferably in a dedicated thread for each.
- The 7:00 pm deadline is for finishing the duel, not starting; if you are mid-attempt at a duel, your time will stop the second the deadline passes
- Attempting a duel that you are not slated to participate in is not allowed; duels will only be made public once all duelists are finished, or the deadline passes, whichever happens first
- Discussing a duel that is in progress with anyone is not permitted; this especially applies if you have already done said duel. General concept advice is okay but anything specific to the duel itself will be penalised; if you've completed it already, it's wisest to steer clear of all such discussion.
- Some duels require uploading images; these must be properly embedded in a post using [img*] [/img*] tags, without the asterisks. The Guide To Proboards will have more information on this.
