TBH, I don't think you'd have gone in either. I know that Falco and I were talking about voting for Dedede, but I also wouldn't have been shocked if it was me going in. (Which in retrospect I almost wish had happened, because I would have crushed the fuck out of that duel).

This was a tougher decision than I anticipated. I thought I'd shut Yoshi down but there are good reasons to vote him.

And the other two both played well, even if Wario is rather deluded around which bits that he can take credit for.

I have no idea if Wario is right about him not going in if he didn't make that plan. I definitely was souring on him even before it happened, but I think that would've prooobably been a me thing. I'm pretty sure if he'd backed down on it, we would've still put him in, but I dunno what I would've wanted if he didn't make up that plan in the first place.

I don't know that I have much more to say that I haven't already. (Just kidding! I wrote three paragraphs.)

Captain Falcon's performance was solid if unspectacular. You can see how schmoozy he is in each of his answers to the individual jurors. I did notice in the game that he talked to me quite a lot even though we were barely ever working together and I imagine it was the same with everyone. He clearly used this to his advantage though and was able to make it to the end only having to duel once. This, on top of the fact that he was clearly a well-positioned, capable and social player, is particularly impressive to me personally. Everybody thought they had an in with the captain and he was widely underestimated as well. His journey since the merge has been pretty smooth overall. I never had much to do with him before that so can't speak to the early game, such as the messy blue team.

I will admit I had hopes for Yoshi here but he hasn't sold it to me tbh. He needed to go a lot harder here to really sway me. I have never been bothered by the egg gimmick conceptually but in practice it did just make him serve as an additional vote for one faction that pretty much dominated the merge. I think if he had honed in on his duel wins and how he used them advantageously (such as by providing a sword and shield for his allies and kept them together for so long) he could have had a stronger point. I still adore my red-blooded kinsdino though Creativity, sincerity and a pleasant disposition all count for something. I am just not convinced that something is winning this game.

Wario surprised me the most and it was nice to see a little touch of humanity in him. Too bad I never saw any of that during the game. He basically just either ignored me or bitched about/to me. And one time asked me to flip on my only allies in the game out of literally nowhere and then got really cut when I didn't do that and burnt him instead. It was my personal favourite moment of the game, but do I give him credit for that? I am kind of impressed how he managed to justify a lot of his really wanky behaviour like being so rigid and uncompromising but I also agree with some of the comments here that it seems a little retconned to me. I enjoyed hearing his perspective on things anyway, and it was illuminating in some ways for me, so I will thank him for that. Still, the most that I can really say is that I do not despise him with the unbridled wrath of the Fell Dragon anymore. I suppose his game didn't entirely suck, either.
