Part II

I think the game is officially out of the first chapter and into the body of the story.

Ironically, if I'd stayed away this morning, we might have just voted Captain since I wouldn't have been here to *possibly* change my vote and Richter/Squirtle might have stuck to a Captain vote for that.

I don't really know what happened this morning. What I was hearing was Richter telling me we needed to change to a Pyra vote, because Squirtle was doing that to avoid rocks (which itself doesn't make sense but hey). And Squirtles messaging style doesn't lead to easy parsing, but he seemed to be saying Pyra cos he thought Richter wanted it.

I *believe* Squirtle was the eventual Pyra vote, which would make Squirtle the less honest in all that. that would line up with my feeling last night that Squirt really didn't want to commit one way or the other and was praying on a mutineer arrival.

I also note despite today's mes, we are officially the small tribe. Fuck.

I'm being relatively straight with Falcon in what went down, but all it's going to do is make him want to vote for me all the more.

I should have a tighter ally than I really feel in the Twins.

Squirtle & Plant (& duellists) should be my priorities today.

This is the part of ORGs I hate. Every one of us (myself included) revising the history of what happened in the last 24 hours to convince ourselves that we are the good guy. Me included.

Like, I flat out lied to Falcon, I tried to strongarm the others by locking my vote & then revote, I sowed some chaos telling Pythra what Cap was pushing (while considering it myself). Yet even I am convinced that I am a chaste angel and the rest of the team are skullduggars.

Oh I like that we can see who's duelled already by the Groups. That is useful.

Richter is dead I am sure, killed by the change in set-up unless he gets hella lucky. That's a shame. We had a good working relationship so far, but it was well on it's way to new heights after our shared ordeal this morning. I think I coulda got him & I super-tight if he lived. Like a tighter pair than anyone on the tribe - undercut his trust in Squirtle today, know that he was very willing to cut any of the others. What coulda been.

Maybe he'll live yet.

So my best play right now is to walk away from the board a bit and leave people some space. But I'm afraid i can't do that Dave, such is my obsessive nature. I don't even have a huge plan for when people do show up. I will ramble in here a bit to keep me from going stir crazy.

What chance of Wario doing the duel early so we know what we're dealing with tonight? These late joiners/non-joiners are killer to try work around.

My version of yesterday: Cap was pushing the "Twins before potential joiner" train. We (the four in the chain) were pushing "Cap before potential joiner". I have framed it as Mythra pushing that the most and me following, but reading the chain I think I might have started it really oops. I did at least go to Squirtle privately to make sure he was okay with it and try open a window to sticking with Cap, and also to Richter with the tale of me thinking Squirtle wasn't okay with it.

I think while I was struggling with the decision of whether to do either/or before the joiner or not, Squirtle was trying to just not decide - boot the joiner, delay the hard choice.

Then while I was asleep, we got news of no joiner at all. And Squirtle made up his mind that he did in fact feel closer with Cap than the girls.

Meanwhile I rock up and see no joiner, and somewhat ~assume~ the conclusion would be Cap getting the vote.

This morning and how that half of things went is not worth wading into. Mess, and leave it at that.

I worry about my anonymity sometimes. My timezone is kind of a dead giveaway so I don't want to highlight it. At the same time I need people to know I'm not missing out on things for fun or avoidance reasons.

Tonight I think I vote for Plant, commit to that early and stick to it. His schtick is cute but I find it too hard to work with. I've sent him a chunky paragraph now. He will send a pic or two in response later. In terms of positioning I think it's a good shout too. The OG Blue would believe it. However, it's kind of out of my hands if Cap/Plant/Squirtle/Xario decide they want to boot me anyway. I would like to think if they go that path, that Squirtle would push the target onto the girls. At the very least give me a heads-up so I can stock up on a Shield on my way.

I don't want to underestimate the ladies either. They said they wanted to reach out to Captain which is the smart play. Whereas anything I say to him now will come off all wrong, they can actually cut through the BS thanks to their position of head against head last time.

I know exactly why he's not playing the duel yet but still, this is killing me. Just play it already for all of our sanity.

I should probably make some bids tonight on Immunity. Would be nice to bring it with me if I am potentially moving to a new tribe. But damn, Pythra is so rich and it would make a lot of sense for her too.

I should track these here for later I suppose, just in case.

Shield - Captain Falcon - 21 points, Piranha Plant - 4 points
Grab - Richter - 0 points
Attack - Captain Falcon - 22 points, Pyra and Mythra - 22 points, Falco - 0 points

So Falcon has spent both his 22 and 21. Interesting.

Maybe Mario is genuinely terrible at duels and is only alive thanks to Ike & Isa, & Richter can somehow pull this off even with a sloooow start.

Well, just five of us. I think Squirtle will want to do the Plant once all is said and done. Unless he has to prove himself to Cap.

Cap's not gonna like being on a 4-man tribe with two players that already wrote his name down, so he'll try to avoid it. I can know my own vote, but again it comes back to depending on Squirtle. Our messages have changed since the vote though. It's not as fluid and easy as it was before. That might signal that he's sharpening a knife.

Mythra should be okay with cutting Plant by all accounts, but I'm sure she can be cut-throat when she needs to be.

Fuck, I'm making myself more paranoid the longer I stay. There are other reasons Squirtle would cut me loose here.

I'd be best off waiting for one more message from each of these, figuring out my bids, and then setting an alarm.

Okay, time for bed.

This is a jebus take the wheel round. Seems like I've gotten as far with Plant as anyone. I could probably work around the schtick if he was here a bit more for some back-and-forth to clarify the stilted communication. But he's not, or he's not at the right times for me. Can't justify keeping him and playing the innocent card, can't contact him enough to either build trust or organise something else - so to focus on him as the boot is practically the only real path. And maybe everyone is equally happy for a quieter round.

What happens at four? I have no clue. People are asking, and having something to work towards might be the only thing that keeps them happy with a calm round now. Myrthra & Cap are bidding on immunity and that's their goal. They can't both have it of course, but I'm happy to step off and see which one does it. If Mythra wins that and we do boot Plant and we don't swap - that's going to be a super awkward round but hey, we sucked at suckering mutineers in so that's what happens.

Same questions from Squirtle; I've given him some loose plans around either us sticking together or us suckering in a mutineer. idk if he buys into it at all, but can't really know until the vote has happened.

So jebus take the wheel, and worst case scenario I go duel (which I'm also okay with).

The one thing that will really annoy me in the morning is if someone still outbids that Attack Card bid.

With Richter gone, I need to let the ladies overtake me as biggest postwhores keep that buffer game going strong.

Goddammit. Chances are we are not getting the one thing that would make life easy this round - that being Wii Fit Trainer joining our team - so we've got to figure something else out.

Of course the first thing my mind goes to is to just go and duel myself. It has some pros

 - handle the business myself and not lose any of the potential allies here onto whatever shuffle tribe we go to via boot.

 - not lose any of those three the other way - i.e. turning on them here. Because I do think we could literally boot anyone right now, Squirtle included

 - earn some loyalty from those three

 - late game, when people start talking about X has to duel because they never did - I will already have a scalp displaying. People might forget the only time I went was voluntarily

It also has cons

 - Cap apparently already suggested this for me. If I do it and then it looks like he manipulated me into it

 - risk of losing and leaving
 - looking too strong/loyal

 - I always hated seeing this as a host or an opponent. The fucking happy clappy tribe that can't bear to vote anyone so they self-sacrifice :barf I don't want to be that guy.

If I don't take this barf route, alternate plans could literally be any of the others right now. On the surface, Pyra wants Cap again, Cap wants Pyra (but isn't closed to doing Squirtle), and Squirtle is hiding in his shell so far. I'll save any explaining on those until a bit more day has passed.
